Eggs

A beautiful Ranunculas
Lots of buds still to open

There are eggs, and then there are eggs!

Whoever laid this GIANT egg
would certainly have needed a a nanna nap that day!

The photos really don't give you an accurate impression
But I was fascinated at the size of this egg

Holding it in my hand was amazing
It was enormous

Weighing in at 111gms!!!

I'd never seen one so large
I think it will be a tripple yolker!
I'll find out tomorrow

Selvedge Quilts

I've been working on this one for awhile now.  I'm happy that it's finally starting to look like a finished quilt.  I'm handquilting it, but it's very hard to go through all the layers.

. . . and while I had selvedges on my mind, I made some coloured blocks and put them together and this little quilt top came into the world.

I thought it was a good way to start the school holidays.
I have 2 weeks now, to enjoy some sewing and gardening

I started piecing this bag pocket after seeing this great version of the
Amy Weekender
but I'm not convinced.  It's lots of my favourite bits of special fabric and daughter has already dibbed it my "bit sa bag"

I've done a little bit of wool playing too,

but
tomorrow I'm off to Eureka Patchwork as they are having an
END OF BOLT SALE

I couldn't resist . . .

This is what arrived in my post box on Friday

All the way from the other side of the globe
www.etsy.com/shop/CobblestoneCreekFarmclaweb@earthlink.net

Just delicious!
And this is my latest bit of knitting on the Knitting Machine - YEAH!

I'm back working on my selvedge quilt, and have made a back for it.

Now I'm hand quilting with Pearl 8 Red.

This lovely flower in my garden is a Geum
Very small plant, but such beautiful flowers at every stage
They do come in a variety of colours, but this is the only one I have.

And my faithful Snapdragons at the front door.
A final week at school for me, and then 2 weeks of holidays
YEAHHH!

Moving In

The knitting machine has officially "moved in"

Of course I had to do a spot of furniture rearranging in order for it to happen
Below is the "after" version of a stool I found in

Mr Flowergarden's "scrap metal" bin!

It came up alright, didn't it Mum! (after a bit of paint and a new cover)

This is my next "bit" of knitting

and here it is on the line, after I felted it in a hot wash

Now I have 2 nice bits - I wonder what I will make

PS I've ewrapped again tonight with new yarn, but have had a slight malfunction with my brain.
I'll try again tomorrow night. Forgot which needles had to stick out and which ones in!
