Little PIles (HSS)

I know I have a problem
But I'm working on it
C O N T I N U O U S L Y
A while back, I went around the house, and was quite shocked at the amount of
little piles
of
C R A P
lying around the house
Unfortunately, most of them seemed
to belong
to me

They were everywhere
My husband says I have
"Horizontalis Surfacsus Syndrome"

Does anyone out there suffer from this syndrome?
Thankfully this was about a month ago, and I've just found these photos
I have worked on lots of these little piles.
Just everywhere . . .
. . . and so it goes on
. . . and on
and on
and on
and on
and every now and then, something good comes of it . . .

  1. Oh you are brave to show those photos. Love the selvedge blocks.

  2. I live with man with the same condition. If the surface is horizontal, it must be filled! Although they do say it is the sign of a busy mind.

  3. I suffer with exactly the same problem, but there again so does my husband.

Brave of you to share and it makes me glad that I am not alone with too much 'stuff'

  4. Yep. And you've seen how many horizontal surfaces I have in my studio.

I think of my little piles of crap as visual to-do-lists(and I like M's "busy mind" excuse).

Hey - I have more selvedges for you. Should I send them NOW or bring them to Sewjourn in May?

  5. "Horizontalis Surfacsus Syndrome"

LOL! DH and I suffer from the same disease. Our tiny cottage is between 700-750 sq. ft. and there definitely isn't storage space for everything.

My work space is a mess, we have stacks of books everywhere, and other stuff too.

Creative projects do happen around here also, inside and out.

Have a lovely Sunday ~ FlowerLady

  6. I suffer from something similar but my particular disease is called leavit on the benchitis. I have most attacks in the kitchen. I do believe that it's also caused by "crap" breeding in the night because there's always more there in the morning. Anyway, they say a tidy house means a boring life.

  7. How funny, I am still laughing!
Very brave showing your little piles, luckily I do not suffer too much of this disease because now I have the time to tide up.
Although I must confess that sometimes in my kitchen...

  8. That is the story of my life! Of course, I also have the side effect of this condition- "Hidius in Binius"- wherein I sweep the piles of stuff into large plastic bins to hide them when company is coming. Unfortunately, as soon as the company is gone, I realize that I now have empty surfaces that need filling... it's a vicious cycle...

  9. I had wondered just what the name of that complaint was - now I know...vbg. Trying to get stuff under control in this household is an impossibility - so I just ignore it. It's much easier on my sanity.

  10. mmm, I think I have a name for my condition now too.

  11. I think we all suffer from that from time to time!

  12. Very brave, but i must thank you and your readers for the best giggle in a while. I was laughing because I can identify with the horror of realisation that most of the mess is mine, and bare surfaces are like magnets for piles of paper and books. I am sure books breed in the night. 'A tidy house is the sign of a boring life', a saying I have been trying to remember for a while now, it was on a fridge magnet that I must have misplaced, thanks.

  13. Applaus for your honesty. My little sewing room looks about the same but I don't dare to show it! And somehow the stuff seemes to follow me through the house. Well crafting is a hobby that keeps you busy in many ways ehm....?

  17. Oh Annie - I fear this is me too... when I look at those pics I know there are a number of them around the house that belong to me, and when I say to the girls they have to learn to find a place for their things that they must look at me and wonder why I don't do the same...

  18. But you seem to have stalled the spread at school. I suffer from it but only in the sewing room(s). Have a super day tomorrow.

  22. Oh, yes! My mum... I've just moved back to Sydney and in with her and for someone who lived alone and didn't grow piles of stuff it is very hard to adjust to... no rhyme or reason, every square inch of every surface has stuff just plonked on it...

  23. So refreshing to see your piles of creativity.
