Finally a Finish

You may remember these fabrics from . . . years ago!
I had a charm pack and loved them, but never seemed to "get around" to using them.  I took them to my recent trip to Sewjourn, and manged to finish this quilt.  Great feeling to have a finish.

This one is ALSO an OLDIE that has been growing for . . . years!
I have sparked my enthusiasm for it, and will tackle some more soon.

I went to Sewjourn at the weekend, and it was time for a new Spring Bag.

Spring Bounty

As I hobbled around my garden yestederday afternoon, I was continually marvelling at the beauty of nature and all the wonderful plants that live in my garden.

 

The Poppies at the moment are AMAZING.  The petals, the colours the fullness of the blooms.  All from a tiny seed - it's just amazing.

My last Crabapple is in bloom.  I have had 2 other lovely ones, but this is such a pretty one and it is a street tree around where I live, and I just had to have one for myself. 

My new little Pea Straw garden is a favourite spots for the pussy cats to sit, and rub thier fur.  I'm sure they think I have put it there as a seat for them when I am in the garden.

 

Everywhere I look, there is something special.

 

 

. . . and look at this little Viola with a silver lining: I love thier faces.

 

I have been home from school for 3 weeks.  The majority of time has been spent flat on my back in bed.  I am so thankful that my flowers have continued blooming and I haven't missed out.

Tomorrow, I am heading back to work.  Check out our School Garden with this link.  We had a Working Bee yesterday, and it is looking amazing.  My foot is a little sore today from the "hop factor". I was so excited to be back amongst everyone and everything.

 

. . . and if you don't fuss too much about weeding, you get the bonus of beautiful pea flowers coming from the pea straw in amongst things.

I promise - BLOGTOBERFEST Final Post

I promise this is the last photo I will show of my toe, but it's the final day of Blogtoberfest, and I have pretty slim pickin's for pictures.
Now my stitches are out, I can put a bit of pressure on, but not too much.  Still sore, but I managed to pull out a small bunch of weeds today in my poor garden.
I'm back to school on Monday (with crutches) and it will be all systems go.
I've enjoyed this down time and will try hard to pace myself a bit more and not get overcommitted once I get back into action againl.

Stitches Out Today

I nearly fainted when I saw it, but the stitches came out today, and I have a little hard shoe to wear.  Doctor very pleased with his work.  Still a bit swollen, but doing well.  I'm allowed to put weight on it for 2 hours a day this week, then 3 the next and so on.  Another appointment in 5 weeks with an X-Ray and I should be as good as new.
