It was a wonderful festival of Tulips in our National Capital

 

Today marked Day 1 of Term 4.
My last term to spend with my grade, who I'm not ready to let go of just yet - so much more to do.
It was a busy day.
When I came home I went out into my garden - it's daylight savings now, so no more coming home in the dark.
Exhausted!

A New Vegi Garden

I've made a new vegi garden!

A friend brought me a pallet, and I had to put it to good use -

Patience

This little Canary has been patiently sitting on 4 eggs. She has a beautiful nest and I hope she is successful.  It's a waiting game with the birds.

. . . and a full bloom Clivia - thought they were a summer flowering plant, but I'm not compliaining.  It's beautiful!

 

This little Canary has not much of a nest, but I have actually seen at least 2 babies in there.  At least there will be plenty of room when they get big.

I'm new at this!  I got the Friends on Friday mixed up with the Thankful Thursday - hmm

So yesterday I blogged about my fabulous friend, and she is pretty good any day of the week, and TODAY, I'm thankful that the sun is shining (at last) and the wind is low. 

The birds are singing . . .

. . . and I can play in my Spring Garden.

This is a giant Seagull Sculpture that we made at school at the end of term, for our Concert Girt By Sea.  We made it out of cardboard boxes, covered with old interfacing, some pencils for the beak, and some mail padding for wings, and the legs were sticks covered with orange string bags.  To top it off, we sat it on an old milk crate.  Lots of fun to make, and the foyer at concert was full of seagull sculptures from each grade.

 

 

Ric Rac Holiday Fun

Some of you may remember that my little neighbour over the road got a sewing machine for Christmas . . .

My good friend Jodie, suggested that we work through her child friendly patterns to make some softies . . .

When it was her birthday, I made her this Whale Pincushion, which was very handy on our sewing day.  Another of Jodie's patterns. I made one for myself too, but still haven't stuffed it . . . must do that!

 

Last holidays we made the Seal - Pickle - lesson one.
She loved it, and was keen for lesson two!

So this holidays we made Sally!

When I was printing the pattern, I accidently did one an A4 size, so thought I'd make a smaller one to give to another little friend . . . yes, Willy!

I didn't get a finished photo of Brookes, as she is taking it to bed each night, but here is my little one all finished, and I just love it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our next project together will be Smith, the next dog on the pattern.
