Table Tubs

My teaching partner made a comment that she wanted to have some Table Tubs this year, so the children could have thier pencils and red pens "at the ready" rather than wasting time finding them in pencil cases.

So I got busy on my sewing machine and whipped up these little beauties.  Needless to say, she was "thrilled" and the children love them too.  Our room looks fabulous with a little touch of . . . sewing!

I had a parcel arrive this week.

Japanese Kimono

This afternoon was a special treat.

I took myself off to the opening of my friend's Solo Quilt Exhibition Opening.

She does amazing work, and if you're anywhere near Ballarat, the show is running for a week at the Post Office Gallery in Lydiard Street.

This was far and away my favourite!

When you looked at it in different light, or "squinty eyes" you saw something different.

"Are you right mum?!"

First Day photos - Miss Flowergarden is going into Yr 10 and has done all this before . . .

. . . or was it her late night, after re-reading her timetable from the bottom of her school bag from December, and realising that school started WED not THUR!!

. . . at least she saw it when she did!

But it was this little fella I was excited about.  He had his times all correct and his uniform ready.  My baby has started on his next chapter, and has started High School.

They're good mates - and for this I am thankful
Early to bed tonight!

Something for Sarah

Like my quilting, I work best "free-style"

I cut a newspaper paper pattern of this skirt from a friend last year, and it has just surfaced in a Sewing Room Tidy.

Sarah and her little waist were pleased with the results.
Said friend got the first version, as it was just too tiny - I'm going to try one for myself, but check measurements first!!

These were the little baby birds yesterday. Just over a week old.
They are starting to look more and more like birds every day.

This was a few days before.  It's amazing how quickly they change and grow.
They have been great source of holiday entertainment for quite a bit of our neighbourhood.

. . . oh, and I fitted in a Scrappy Quilt Top in there somewhere.
Nothing more done on it of course.

But lots of my fabourite Amy Fabrics
