The Sweet Promise of Springtime

A morning walk around my garden on the last day of July

So many signs of promise and a colourful Springtime ahead

I'd love to get out and play in my garden, but it's just too cold, and I have lots of sewing to do inside by the fire.

Mobile Phone Downloads

I've been very frustrated tonight trying to download my photos from my phone.  I finally had some success with the help of Master 13 Flowergarden.
I found some lovely surprises.  This is the tree I made last year at school as a display, using one of my dad's old jumpers and some chenille.  We cut the leaves out of magazines.
. . . and then of course had to make some birdies.  I'm not in this room this year, but my friend who is there now, wanted me to leave it for her, so I still get to see it during meetings.  I DID love it!

These blocks have been completely abandoned.  I must hunt them out.  I forgot I even made them.  Hmmm, I wonder what else is lurking in the piles . . .

Leucadendrin on a cold frosty morning

. . . and this golden mushroom was AMAZING!  I'm sure my garden is magical!

. . . and some views from the Quilt Show in Melbourne on Saturday

. . . and the question is

My sister came to visit last week from the farm, and brought fresh produce.
After playing with it for awhile . . . we made soup!  The pumkin was called a Trumbachino, and she even brought me a plant to put in my garden.

I've been really wanting to try a pattern from my new Modern Quilts Book.

This is the one I've been working on.  Lots of cutting but exciting results.

This is as far as I got before having to go out with family for cat food, and garden projects.  I pruned some of my roses today and the highest temperature was 5 degrees.  It was icy out there.
My block will wait for me until Wednesday.

Charming - "Prints Charming!"

Great finds from Spotlight lately

But really, inspiration from HERE

I just HAD to have one!

School holidays were WAY too short, but a new skirt will take some of the return to work pain away.

Wintery Cold

It's a really cold Wintery day today - and despite the fact that I gardened at school this morning at a working bee . . .

. . . and at home this afternoon, amidst the drips of rain, in my gortex coat . . .

. . it continued to be miserable!

I thought I would look back over some Spring photos and share a bit of colour on this grey day.

Surely these good times will come again!
