Memories in the making . . .

A beach holiday in Autumn
"lest we forget"

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

I've actually finished 2 Around the Block blocks, ready for posting, and I've been hand quilting my flannel quilt with some TV time.

I've been dreaming about my next bag, and maybe one for someone else . . .

I've been pottering in my garden all day today on my day off - bliss!

I've been thinking of counting how many different types of Salvia's I have in my garden and photographing them.

Each time I think to post a new entry, I remember that I forgot to take some photos while it was light.

The darkness is here again.

Autumn is here

My favourite season of them all. LOTS of jobs to do in the garden and cooler weather which is nice. I'm missing the light at the end of the day now that daylight savings has finished, but my nights are longer inside, and I'm able to do my sewing, without being too tired. I'm getting excited about all the autumn leaves and looking forward to collecting them for my compost. I have been busy emptying 2 full bays and putting the rich, dark, yummy compost onto my garden, getting the bays available to fill to the brim with leaves, and all sorts of other goodness.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do

. . . on another inspection

the toys seem to have had a late night and are all sleeping it off . . . with their eyes open. Pretty sure Ted is OK, thanks for all your concerns - I was forced to go back and check!
Finally finished machine quilting my 9 patch Quilt-a-long from Crazy Mom Quilts - now just for the binding - I'll have to keep the momentum going to finish it off now. It's getting cold here.

. . . and look who likes Callum's new quilt - which is also finished now and in complete use, continuously

It doesn't happen overnight . . . but it does happen!

Last year when a group of us went to Sewjourn, I started piecing my scraps to make this quilt. It came together quickly and then just sat in the "basket" crying out for love and completion. I heard the call this week and used some left over backing with the pattern drawn on and it was finished in a flash - encouraged by the speed, I made the binding and . . . voila!
All from scraps . . . yeah!
I've been enjoying hand quilting this one quietly. It's SO soft and lovely
. . . and I'm not sure what was going on here in Master 10's bedroom
hmmmmm . . . I hope teddy's alright!

I saw a rabbit . . .

Sunshine at Easter

Easter in my Mother's Garden was a smorgasbord of colour and beauty
The children made Easter Nests in the garden hoping a little bunny might hop on by

. . . which of course she did

I brought home a box of little pots and am having a gardening day tomorrow
