Autumn is here

My favourite season of them all. LOTS of jobs to do in the garden and cooler weather which is nice. I'm missing the light at the end of the day now that daylight savings has finished, but my nights are longer inside, and I'm able to do my sewing, without being too tired. I'm getting excited about all the autumn leaves and looking forward to collecting them for my compost. I have been busy emptying 2 full bays and putting the rich, dark, yummy compost onto my garden, getting the bays available to fill to the brim with leaves, and all sorts of other goodness.

Pretty leaves, Annie. The cooler weather is always welcome after our hot summers, isn't it? My chicken yard is the compost bin. They do such a good job, and they're always busy. I guess that's one reason I like the chickens so much......plus the fact that they're just plain fun to watch.

There is something rather cosy about the onset of Autumn isn't there?

Have you been embarrassing your children in pursuit of leaf mulch ingredients again this year?

I can already see you out there raking up leaves in random streets....just for the compost.....no autumn colour here yet but it can't be far away......
and I am loving my stitching time inside and been getting lots of hand stitching done........

Whilst you're having wonderful golden leaves in your garden, we just start to have a fresh lush green here, because it's Spring. There will now be less time for sewing, but more for gardening ;-) !
