Crazy Chooks

Amidst my beautiful blooms, I have some "crazy chooks."  Mrs Clucky who is my teenage son's chook has taken to sleeping up the nectarine tree in the chook yard.  My friend says that "perhaps it just needs it's space!."  Another chook, Frances, is patiently sitting on eggs, despite the fact that we regularly remove the eggs for our breakfast.  The other 2, Storm and Chick Chick are just trying to get on with business around all this strange behaviour.  Nelly puss keeps them company by day, sleeping under the rosemary bush.

oh where do i start on the crazy chooks...
2 of the "girls" are sitting on eggs and we will have a bunch of our first little chickens in about 2 weeks...
so exciting...the rooster thinks he is just IT, and our other hen we think must be a "feminist" for wont of a better word...

Thank you for your visit. I was sure it was a chicken but the word chook is new to me.

Annie, I think ALL of my chickens are a little "off the mark". I have the very old hippie chick with the pompadour (She's the one in my header.) who has no clue even where she is most of the time, except early in the morning when she thinks she's a rooster and starts crowing. The rest of them are busily trying to pull each other's feathers out most of the time. I've had chickens for twenty years, but this is the nuttiest bunch yet! They do provide a lot of amusement, though. :)

LOL Spring has gone to their heads! One has gone native up in a tree and another has gone broody. ROFL Love it Annie! Just sprinkle greens down for them and she'll come out of the tree.
When we had hens I'd tell them how many eggs we needed before the school bus came, and without fail the right number would be provided. Clever but opinionated critters. :-)
