"My Nellie" - I do love her. It's been lovely being home with her in the holidays. She has been my mate in the garden and my mate in the sewing room. She is good company.
Miss Flowergarden wanted to get in on the act with some sewing, so she decided a new headband was in order. We stayed up late, and finished the job. This morning it went straight on her head.
Reversible of course . . .
. . . and then the text came in of a first Grandchild for our School Principal
into the stash I went hunting again . . .
and cut cut, sew sew, and a new baby quilt was underway.
Does anyone know what these little caterpillars are called? They look like sticks, and I have been picking them off my plants constantly. They sort of stick up in the air, and nibble from the bottom.
. . . and finally I have Abraham Darby flowering in my garden. A thing of beauty!

gorgeous quilt colours Annie. thanks for the invite to the blog meet - short and sweet but lovely to meet everyone. Any chance of a headband tutorial??? It is so beautiful.:)
Your little mate Nellie is just adorable. Love the baby quilt those subtle colours are gorgeous. The headband turned out so well and that rose is just glorious. I have seen those funny little caterpillars too but am not sure what they are-just a nuisance I think!
Abraham Darby is a lovely rose. David Austin is managing to combine the scent and shape of a lot of the old roses with the disease resistance of the new roses. lovely man I'm sure.
Beautiful work on the hairbands and the quilt top. That is so beautiful- you picked the fabrics perfectly- like talc-ed roses. :-)
oo caterpillar might be Peppered Moth Biston Betularia
Lovely quilt!
Kind regards,
