Stash and Rain

I used some of my old old stash, that I have not wanted to cut as I liked it so much.  Realised it was crazy having it in the cupboard just getting older and older, so thought I'd just cut it into squares and make it into a quilt for my bed.  Made most of it in the Christmas holidays, and then finished off the quilt top last weekend, incorporating some of the lovely new Ava Rose.

A Kristen Doran piece inspired me to have another go at a mini quilt for my mini quilt wall.  After a wet long cold Sports Day with school, I had to come home and sew, just to calm myself down and get over the dreadful day.
. . . and then I realised the cold and wet had been raining on my garden . . . so I went outside, and had to run back in for my camera.  I was so pleased to see my plants a little bit happy and dampness everywhere.

Oooh, such pretty pictures! I love that new quilt -- such a good reminder to use some of our stash. I end up hoarding it too long and then don't like it anymore!
