My Favourite Season

Autumn is well and truely here in Ballarat.  It is indeed my favourite Season of them all.  I love the colour, I love the seed ponds, I love this rain that keeps coming, and the cooler weather.  I love the cutting back, planting bulbs for Spring and tucking everything up for winter with mulch.  I'm so excited to have some of my own Autumn leaves in my garden, but still need to import the bulk of them from the streets in town on my way home from school.
Remember my beautiful new bag?
. . . well, what I didn't tell you was that I made a mistake when I was putting the magnetic clip on, and left 2 little holes in the front pocket.  I thought I would look for a little button to cover them up.  I was down in Geelong on Saturday and was having a lovely time at A Little Different with all their gorgeous fabrics, and I found this little birdy button.  It was just perfect!
I never tire of looking at this beautiful yellow daisy bush.  Such a common old thing, but every flower is always different in my eyes.  They are all so individual and even the old ones have their own special character.

Autumn is indeed my favourite season . . . what's yours?

That birdie button is perfect with that fabric. I've stuffed up a magnetic clip once too but I didn't think to fix it with a button

I have to say that I love the A Little Different shop too and always walk out with something. It always has such great things, and then of course I pop into the bakery on the corner and have lunch. I havent been in about 2 years so things may have changed. Hasnt the weather been beautiful on the weekend and now it is so cold I can feel it in my bones.

SPRING is my favorite season.

Spring is definately it for me. I can start pruning in earnest without the danger of frost killing anything plus there is still enough moisture in the soil for the plants to start growing - summer brings a grinding halt to all that kind of stuff...sigh. Had to reread the bit about you bringing home loads of mulch from the trees as you go home from school. What a fantastic idea.
Love the birdie button. Very, very cute.

I am thinking of you every day at the moment when I drive down an oak lined street on the way to school. The leaves are starting to pile up in the gutters, & I remember your post last year about gathering them up & taking them home. "You can do it Bloom, you can do it! Annie Flowergarden is brave enough - you can too", I mutter to myself! Thanks for another inspiring bloom laden post. I'm off to plant a clematis that has been waiting for me for too long.

Autumn is my favourite too! Generally beautiful days with cool nights, such a relief after summer. I love the cool crisp air of the morning and evenings and the beautiful colours of the foliage. Your photos are beautiful as usual, it certainly does make a difference with the clarity to have a really good camera.

I love summer just because I am such a cold frog I really hate winter, does that make sense. Never admit a mistake. It should have read "remember my bag I saw these lovely buttons don't they look great on it".

Nice fix with the bird.. if you hadn't confessed, no one would ever have know the bird wasn't part of your plan.

So what type of seed pods are those? They look ready to jump out and plant themselves... sorry it's Spring here... so we have lots of seeds coming up now. As aways, I love to see all your wonderful pictures. Enjoy the Season!

Summer for sure! I love the long hours of daylight, from 5:20 a.m. until 9:40 p.m.. I love to swim and to watch things grow, and go outside in the lightest clothes - no coats, gloves, and boots for a few months of delight.
