My special Echium from Lambley Nursery has flowered for the first time
. . . and in the middle of winter
What a beauty!
and some secret sewing for a special little girl's birthday
taken from this pattern which I LOVE in the colours in the magazine, but used pinks instead
All ready for quilting

Lovely, did you already have all the material? Or did you make it from fabric specifically purchased for this quilt? It's wonderful! She will love it!

That Echium is so beautiful .... one of those plants that you really have to study close up to see how wonderful all the colours are and how the flower heads are 'constructed'.

We had them on the farm in Gippsland when I was a child, and I hated them then.....very overgrown and neglected and the hens used to make dust baths underneath. Since seeing them in recent years at Diggers, I've changed my mind completely.

Do you visit St Erth?
