Inch by inch

Miss Nelly was having a lovely snooze on my quilt. I couldn't resist taking her photo.
I've been working on my 9 patch this weekend, and inch by inch it is coming along.
I have put the extra white sashing around the edge now and the quilt top is complete. It is quite large, so my next challenge will be organising a back piece.
. . . and then some quilting.

I made another one, just like the other one

Some fancy quilting on my Japanese Friendship Quilt - I'm loving my new machine. Just the binding now and it's ready to hang. Just have to find a spot big enough as it's like a banner.
. . . and Oh Amy, how I love you! I thought I would consolidate my learning and make another one quick smart - I can see how they can be addictive as already planning another!!
Both Nelly and Max approved.
Did I say how pleased I was with myself?!

I need to get back to this

I need to uncover this project from the piles - still mourning the departure of Amanda Jean from Crazy Mom Quilts. She made 2 and I haven't even finished the first.
Some rain in my garden has been nice, as I've been too busy sewing to work in it this week.
I just LOVE my Hollyhocks!

Who would have thought

I went to an "Amy Butler Trunk Show" the other night at Ballarat Patchwork.
Inspired as always by my friend Jodie, plus the added advantage of 20% off all Amy Butler stuff at Ballarat Patchwork this week, I bought the pattern for this skirt, that actually has 3 variations of skirt included.
Then a SALE hop to the 50% off all fabric at Lincraft, as Jodie insisted I must make a practise one first.
. . . and look what happened.
I still have to hem it, and shame about the legs, but I'm thrilled with my success.

I LOVED doing these

I am definitely on the "Quirky" side of quilting, as I just loved doing these little houses for the Quirky little village that is going to be made up in one of the Around the Block quilts.
I am even inspired to have a go with some of my (mountains) of scraps and try some myself.
Travel well little houses, I will put you in the post tomorrow.
hmmmmmm...
,,, and now for the next project.

Quilts and Swaps

Last night my local quit group swapped back our friendship quilts strips we have been working on for about a year. Mine is the top Japanese one, and I was thrilled with it. Now it's just a matter of putting it all together. Mine is going to be a banner wall hanging.
This was one of the others and I just adoured the colours. It is going to look stunning when it is finished.
Today it was back to the Around the Block Swap. These colours were so pretty and I enjoyed making these blocks. They are in the post now and off the the lucky recipient.

While the iron was hot, I did strike and began the next one that I had in the line waiting to do. This was to be a quirky little village that is being made up. I had a bit of fun with it, and quite a bit of input from the kids. I might make another one of these B4 I send it off.
. . . and now I'm up to date with my swaps.

High Excitement

Peace - tranquility - my first day off

I'll be back with some sewing!
