A big thank you to all the lovely comments of encouragement and ideas, to help me get back into some sewing. I have finally ventured into the sewing room, and am pleased to report that a new quilt is on it's way. This week's excitement in Ballarat couldn't have come at a better time for me. On Wednesday night, I was lucky enough to get a ticket to attend a Kaffe Fasset lecture. What an interesting man who has had, as he described "a charmed life"
At the end of the talk, there were some of his quilts on display, and some people took their quilts for Show and Tell. It was a most interesting evening and most inspiring.
Here's the man himself, and I was bold enough to get a photo of me with him, although he wasn't too keen on the flash. Of course there was a book signing opportunity too, and just a tiny bit of fabric purchased!!!
And our wonderful Jen from the CAKE shop had these cakes especially made, and I was lucky enough to get one. Thanks Em!
. . . stay tuned, tomorrow is a weekend!

Very lucky, sounds like a wonderful evening. The cupcakes look awesome.
How wonderful! I would think if he couldn't inspire you - you might as well sell your sewing machine. :) So happy for you that you got to go and see him live and in person (and the fabrics). I see fabrics he designed years ago and they are still vibrantly alive and tempting to sew into something.W
Sounds like a great evening and those cakes are so clever! Lucy x
Am slightly concerned Annie. You seem to have a Vulcan death grip going around KF's neck and he looks a little dead. Have you killed him?
Haha Trash makes me laugh! Lovely to meet you Annie - I am cross though that I didn't get to see his quilts in the 'flesh' - I think I ran out the door too quickly to get the book signing done. Good night had by all I think!!
Ohh you are lucky. Love the photo of you both. He doesn't look happy about the flash though does he?
Who wouldn't be inspired around that man Annie and all those colours are amazing, fabulous cakes too..

Sorry, Trash, I knew I should have been keeping an eye on Annie but she escaped. A good night out - thanks for your good company and the lift, Annie.
So glad your mojo is back! Sounds like a great evening. Love the cupcakes!!!
