As I took these photos of our Australian Christmas, I wondered to myself, if the images were any different all around the world. There is Christmas Craft - the Knitted Pudding that mum made, and is filled with little chocolates - a tradition that is a favourite with us all - treasured ornaments, shortbread, the salads with lunch and then the blooms from the garden . . . ooops, I missed the snoozing after lunch, the book reading and the table decorations!

It started with an old pair of boots
Well, actually, it started with another bag I was making for a friend of a friend, for a Christmas Present. I was so impressed with the new bag I'd made, that I started dreaming of a new one for me. My current bag has flannellete panels, which is very Wintery . . . well, that's what I told myself for justification!
I have been hoarding these old worn out boots from a couple of seasons ago. I loved them dearly, so tucked them away in the cupboard thinking that surely I could make something out of them one day.
The day arrived this week. I had a rush of inspiration and some new Liberty fabric that I couldn't resist. I will post another picture of the finished product. A few nights in the making and my Summer Edition Handbag will be complete.
This is just a little taste of the other bag, just in case any sneaky peaky eyes are looking!!!
. . . and I'm still madly obsessed with my birds. Just fascinating to watch

Thanks Mr. Fothergill
Clematis

Amidst all my beautiful flowers and "busy ness"
Mr Fothergill sent me an early Christmas Present.
Lots and lots of seeds to trial. This is great, as I am planning on helping out with the Environmental Group at school next year, and this could be heaps of fun to raise them with the children.
I love to encourage young gardeners.
This morning when I went out for my garden inspection, I was very excited to see these DARK poppies in flower. I had to rush back inside and get my camera. I had bought the frilly ones which flowered, but some other seeds must have slipped into the mix to my delight!
It was lucky that I photographed them, as it is windy today and by the time I got back from Saturday morning jobs, most of the petals had blown off. I hope the seeds will find a place ready for next year.

Busy Mums
I've been helping too, making some boiled chook eggs mashed up. The babies like it for thier breakfast. It is fascinating to watch these little ones grow and be cared for.
This little one is from my second avairy. It has been in a nest with 3 other babies.and it was getting a bit crowded. I found it sitting on top of the nest just now, outside the nest, but not big enough to fly down. I carefully put it into a lower nest, as it was a LONG way to fall where it was. Mum is still looking after it there, and it wont be long until it can fly.
