Free motion

 Things have been quiet around here lately in my Flowergarden.

Winter arrived today - cold and wet.

 I've had a little bit more free motion fun with birds . . . but not a lot of other things going on in my sewing room.

 A new vase by default from my cousin - it was hiding in a picnic basket he passed on to me.  I love it, and it was just the right thing for these sweet violets that are flowering in my garden at the moment.

 This is the main reason I've been tucked away at my computer though . . .

Intimate Breakfast

 Last Weekend I was invited to an Intimate Breakfast

to help celebrate a friend's 50th birthday.

 I wanted to make her something special, as she is a very special friend.

 I have been inspired recently by the work of Sweet Birdy Love,

and thought I'd try my hand at something like that.

 I was thrilled with the result, and so was my special friend.

 If only Nelly knew she had been sleeping under a bird!

 The party was fabulous, and in true Flowergarden style . . .

 I was in charge of the flowers on the tables.

Week 3 Term 2

 Back into full swing at school.

School - Homework

. . . but LOVING the Autumn colour.  Going to take my camera to school tomorrow, as outside my window is a wonderful tree.  I'm enjoying it so much.

Been getting the kids to gather leaves at Playtime and load up the garden beds for mulch.  So many willing little hands.

Finally Finished

 I started this project at least 2 years ago. I started off with great gusto and then it sat on my design wall, and it sat, and it sat.

 This was the original pattern by Kelly of Don't Look Now

and I adapted it to make a seasonal set of quilts.

 I have them on a long rod at the moment, but am having trouble finding a place to hang them in my house.  I'm very pleased to say I'm finished them, and it was indeed an achievement for the holidays.

 I've made up a box of plants for the Mothers Day Stall at school next week.

Thought I would share the love just a little.

Back to school in the morning, but I've done a lot in these last 2 weeks.

So I feel quite satisfied.  The hard bit will be getting up early in the morning!
