My last school bag I made, I still love and adour, however, it is so huge, I find myself filling it up with school work each night and especially weekends, and then not looking at it all weekend, and then have to lug it back to school feeling guilty that I haven't done any work. - CRAZY!
So after buying this georgous fabric from Kristen Doran, which I absoulutely LOVE, I plotted and schemed for a long time to come up with the idea of another school bag - only this time smaller, so I didn't bring home so much work, and I get to see these lovely little birds every day.I am actually looking forward to going to school tomorrow to show off my lovely new bag.
I have been having a lovely gardening weekend despite night time sewing of course, and my little Pete, has been working in his garden which he calls "Pete's Paradise." Look at the produce he yeilded. We will have to go on a neighbourhood walk and share them with our friends.
Oh, and just a spot of Double Delight which I couldn't help adding to my post.

Annie, I love the bag! Gorgeous fabric and great design. Long long ago when I was a teacher I had marking that travelled back and forth between school and home but never seemed to make it out of the bag ... very wise not to make the bag too big!
Annie, that is your best bag ever !! I almost wish I was coming to school tomorrow to see it - almost. I'll have a newie to show you on Tuesday too.
Tell Pete, he is amazing.

Great tote annie. I'd love to know what the pattern is (if you used one).
Fab bag you know when you go the school tomorrow with your nice new bag everybody will be putting in an order for one. Glad you have had a productive weekend.
OMG! Love that bag. It looks so professional. (Of course - you made it) Very good school bag. I know what you mean about filling it then not doing the work. I would do the same.
Annie your new bag is gorgeous! I adore the fabric too, and the colours you have put with it look perfect. Pete's yield is great, we have an allotment but it is the time of year here when not too much is happening yet, getting ready to plant everything! Your neighbours are very lucky
: )
Great bag - perfect size to show off those fab birds! I'm another who wishes I could smell the rose through your blog!
That is a great bag - and I also love the fabric. Well done. Gardening treasures are fantastic too and so nice to be able to share with the neighbours. Enjoy!
Your bag is brilliant - and what a good idea to make it smaller so you can't bring so much work back!!!

If i hadn't seen your garden myself I'd doubt whther all these beautiful flowers could come from one garden!! And yes, the bag is definitely a winner too!

I was the Reading Specialist for our 1st and 2nd graders. Now that I'm not working I'm making things for my friend Chris's classroom. Right now she's doing extentions from 'Fancy Nancy' by Jane O'Connor. Do you know hte book??? I just made the invites for a tea party for the 'writing center', a large cardstock teapot to put their needed words on, etc. etc.
So, I'm still in touch with 1st grade.
I used to be a consultant for RIGBY in our state. Fun job!!

Just catching up with all your news. Love the school bag - I so relate to bringing heaps home then feeling guilty when not much gets done. (But we do need a life sometimes!) Glad you enjoyed the Quilt Convention - I remember seeing most of the quilts in your photos.
