A project Finished

A good feeling to have a project finished. I've been working on this apron for my friend Brenda for a couple of months now, on and off. I started with gusto, but the last finishing touches is what took the time, and dragged out. Always seems to be the way with my projects. The apron she is using was bought on my wedding day, so it was only fitting that I completed the request, again on my wedding day, only 15 years on.
I hope she likes it!
I did some fun shopping this week with Auntie Cookie and was very excited not to miss out on these little trimmings rolled up on pegs.
A hot hot weekend ahead, so I am planning to do some serious sewing and stay indoors with the air conditioner. I might venture out into the garden in the evenings as the tank is f i n a l l y getting installed so anyone who has any rain about, send some my way soon.
...and some good news about my "flowergarden cards" - I have put them in my local post office, and to see them sitting on the counter For Sale was very exciting!! I hope someone else thinks so too and actually buys them...

We had VERY heavy non-stop rain overnight...I'm wishing it your way, although it's gone now, and the world has woken up here to crisp spring sunshine...we still need coats and scarves to go out here though! Fran

you are welcome to all our rain, the uk is awash with it at the moment! Your apron is lovely, the fabrics you have used are gorgeous. I'm sure that your cards will do really well, good luck with them

Love that apron.
Don't like your chances of rain. Not for the next week at least.

If I had rain I don't think I could bare to share it I have forgotten what it looks like my morning walk are getting more depressing as every bodies gardens dry up and die it is so upsetting. Enough of that as it's going to be 39 today. Love the apron. I'm sure the flower cards will be a hit.

Your friend Brenda is very lucky-your apron is lovely especially the little frilly bit at the bottom. I am sure your cards will sell well-they are stunning and very professional. We are all going a bit crazy with the heat and the poor garden is suffering-bring on the rain!!!

It is a beautiful apron and I'm sure she will love it, especially being on the same day has her first one. Lovely idea.

Annie I just got a huge surprise looking at your post....my new apron. As you know I am trying my best not to get too distarcted by blog-land so that I can finish off my thesis, but every now and then I have a peek. I can't wait to wear it and to get back into baking lots of yummy things post-PhD. Thanks +++
