"Keepin' it REEL"

After finally biting the bullet and making a home for my crotchet hooks, I forgot to take into account the seam allowances and they just don't fit!!!  Oh, well, nothing like a dry run.  Back to the drawing board.

It does look lovely Annie. What about using it for double needles- cable and sock needles which are shorter. Failing that would things like craft pens fit? I'm sure you can come up with a use for somethign so pretty.

O dear! Doesn't that annoy you. If you do not know what to do with this result share it with a young one and they will find an excellent use for it. Such a pity, especially when you used such lovely fabrics. Cherrie

Whoops!
Do you have something shorter that you can use it for?

Hello, I discovered your beautiful blog a couple of weeks ago and have been lurking around. But had to say, I agree with Melanie, are you sure you didn't make it for your pencils, fabric markers etc? It looks like it would fit them perfectly!

What a pretty roll - perhaps you could use it for make up brushes instead? Love your collection of cotton reels - I have a lot too and am just waiting for the perfect project to repurpose them!

Oh your case still looks nice though, and what do you do with all your empty spools? I always wonder if I will regret throwing them away. I do save the wooden ones, I think maybe someday if I have grandchildren they may like to string them together.

It does look very smart just the same. Next one will be absolutely perfect!

Have you found a use for all the empty cotton reels? Perhaps you use them in school?

Oh, bummer! I hate when I do things like that, but I just say, "I learned another way NOT to do it." :)

It does still look mighty pretty.

Gorgeous Annie, the fabrics are beautiful. I'm sure the kids or yourself will find another purpose for it.
I've been meaning to do the very same project for my knitting needles for ages now. Perhaps you've inspired me!

Oh you make me feel so good I'm glad I'm not the only one who ends up with little technical mistakes.

Oh, but they DO fit!! Now you can see the tops right away, without even opening the bag. Very handy.
( I made the same mistake with mine. Just keep telling yourself it was ment that way, it saves your sanity).
