Not only did my beautiful pussy cat Max, break his tail (which I have to assure you is getting better day by day), my no. 1 Master Flowergarden 16 broke his kneecap!
Disco Bowling!!
(I must assure you also, that he is getting better day by day too)
I just HAD to go off to Sewjourn for a couple of nights away from it all . . .
and S E W !
Unfortunately I didn't get to do any of my spiderweb selvedge quilt, but I took it to put up on the design wall, and it has inspired me to get back to it. Thanks to the girls who gave me their edges. Contributions greatfully received.
I did start working on this - I think of few of the blocks are a bit 'wrong way round' - that design wall at Sewjourn is good. They are just sitting there so don't worry. Can you believe that I was in such a rush to get home to the injured, that I left both of these quilts in Lancefield!!! Thanks Karen for seeing them and Nikki for posting them home.
Then back to school, not really knowing what to do, so I cut a big bunch of flowers from my garden and got the Grade 5's to draw with pastels. This was one of my favourites. They did a fabulous job, and enjoyed the exercise. They were all so good, I put them all up in the Art Room and it has made a wonderful display. I felt a little like this fellow below by Tuesday 4pm. I don't think I'll do paper folding with Preps again!
On top of all this, it is now Report Writing time . . . so I have cut out a new table runner!

I think I like that lay out of the zig-zag better than mine.
And ouch that knee looks sore!
How all well soon. Love the pastel art work.
Ouchies! Love the flower pic :-)
OUCH! My knees ache just looking at that photo -- I hope your son is doing much better now. I'm sure glad you got your quilts back -- although Jan might have enjoyed using them at Sewjourn LOL!
That looks truly painful, glad to hear that he's improving..
Love the selvedge quilt, I could have dropped some off for you when I left your plant on the doorstep yesterday Annie. Do you need moreof the selvedges? I have quite a few you're welcome too....

You have to love teenage boys. I didn't realize disco bowling was a contact sport LOL. I am sooooo impressed with that drawing, I don't even do stick figures justice.
You have certainly had variety in your week. Hope your son and Max are both feeling better. Love the selvedge quilt... some of them are so pretty it's a shame not to use them for something. And that grade 5 picture needs a frame ... love good kids art.
Oh, poor knee! Hope he and Max heal quickly. And sewing really does help, doesn't it.
Now that I've seen that swollen knee, I can imagine how it feels. Rest up my boy , maybe Max can curl up with you and you will both get better quicker. The still life of flowers is lovely . That was a good idea.
What a brave Art teacher you are...paper folding with preps?... gives me the shivers thinking about it! I think the only paper folding I would do with them would be people paper chains but that involves scissors, no good! I did do some folded christmas decorations with the younger year levels and they (some did) managed that. Just 3 straight cuts involved.
That knee is impressive and not in a good way!!! Poor Max! How did he do his injury??? Glad you had a few days of r & r away, you deserve it!
That knee looks bad! I love your spider web quilt. Sorry I just can't part with any of my selvedges. I am so glad I don't have to do reports anymore. Hope all goes smoothly.
Ouch that knee looks very painful! Hope all better soon. Xxx
Yikes that knee looks sore and I am sure your pussycat is feeling sorry for himself too. Hope they are both on the mend.your are certainly busy with your quilts- they are gorgeous as usual. Love the kids art. I have seven reports to go and didn't do any this weekend but they always seem to get done after all he procrastination. Ave. great week
