Friendship Quilt

My Quilting Group has been working on a Friendship Quilt all year, or rather many quilts. We all made our centre blocks back in February, and every 2 months we swap quilts around and add a boarder onto them. It's the first one I've been involved in and I am really enjoying it. Each time we swap the quilts over, we peek at other people's, but are not allowed to look at our own for the whole 12 months. It's very exciting wondering what people are adding to our individual ones. I have been working on Christines quilt. Of course it has been sitting in the box under my sewing desk for almost the whole 2 months and now that the pressure is on, I've been as busy as a beaver trying to get it finished. It's Wednesday night, and the change over is tomorrow night! I've DONE it! And just in the knick of time. Of course I can't show you exactly what I've done, in case she gets wind of this blog entry and peeks herself.
My sewing room is a complete disaster zone, but I really can't blame ALL that on Christine's Quilt!

What a lovely idea! It sounds as though you work well under pressure. Christine's quilt is looking great-love the combination of colours.

I can't wait to see all these quilts and am convinced we need a space to hang them so people can come and visit .

And what a great job you have done, Annie!

Yes, I agree with Jodie. Maybe you should approach someone with a free wall (eg a library or cafe) and ask if you can display them, for all to see! We will all descend for a visit!

What lovely pictures of quilts, flowers and children! It seems so odd to me to see spring flowers when, here, it's sliding into autumn.

Thanks for your comment on my blog and for admiring my name! I have to admit that it's my middle name - I don't use my first one in my blog because I'm a teacher - just in case any of my students should come across it. Not that I ever write anything scandalous...

Oh! I love those colour combinations. Hope you put a finished picture up once your friend has been given the quilt so we can all see!

Thanks for your comment on my blog today - I have to confess, I bought a huge load of more fabric today. So much that a little old lady took pity on me and helped me carry some of it to the train!
