I've been having a go at "Wonky Logs" as Ric Rac likes to call them, but somehow, I think they turned out more crazy patch.
It was fun just having my basket of scraps by my feet and diving in for a surprise piece of fabric to put on next and see how they turned out.
They were a little addictive. I'll have to think what I'm actually going to do with them.
I am making another touchy feely blanket for a friend's baby - not sure whether it's a boy or girl, so I had fun choosing a variety of ribbons.
I'm marching through the cotton lately. I can't throw these beauties out though. Surely there's a good craft activity I could do at school with them. Just not sure what it is yet. Any ideas?

Love the crumb blocks! I've been doing some of my own lately, with foundations. I also keep my spools, but don't know why!! :)

Scrap blocks are great! Scrapquilts are our friends! LoL
What about using all sorts of empty spools to build castles with? Maybe paint them first? Have all the kids have mom give them their empty spools... or even contact a quilt quild? Good luck!

If you know any small people in the 1/3 year old range I suggest a treasure (touchy feely) box. These wpuld make a great addition.
Failing that I suggest a shoelace knotted at one end and a cup of tea for you while you watch the ensuing hilarity and frustration.
I think your wonky blocks look fabulous-great way to use up those scraps-the colours are lovely. I too have a whole collection of cotton spools that I don't really know what to do with. They seem too good to just take to school and put in the making box. I am too saving mine until I get a brain wave-I could be waiting awhile! Your baby blanket is gorgeous:)
Oh Annie, I just Love those "wonky" patches. They will look great altogether. And I'd love to touch your "touchy feely" blankets.
Now for those cotton reels - could you wind different ribbons around them then thread them together making necklaces? Christmas Decos?
Other then that, I wouldn't have a clue.

I wonder of the reels could be handles for stamping? But what to put on the end? Rubbers???
Me again . Two straight lines has a post at the minute where she covered her spools with cardboard (decorated0 and they look like sweets - super cute!
I love the 'wonky logs', they'd look great sewn into a quilt with little sashings between each one... The touchy feely blanket is gorgeous too. As for the cotton reels, I'm with ric-rac, they'd make good stamp handles.

Love the wonky logs - my niece is a teacher and we have an Adele box all my empty cotton reels go in that box.

I always think theres something to do with those spools too as I toss them out in the recylcer.
Love those blankets, my son had one and it was the lnly thing that would keep him happy in the car.
