This is ... my collection

sorry for the dark photos, but this has turned into a very dark issue...
This is a sad tale ... but true. I asked my 10yr old daughter what she thought I collected and she rattled off quite a few familiar things like, plants, fabric, cushions, pin cushions ...
...magazines ...
I thought I'd go for a walk around the house with my camera, and the scary thing was, I found them:

*in my bookcase

*in my cupboard

*on the counch in my sewing room

*on the floor beside the couch in my sewing room

*on the cupboard in my sewing room

*on the filing cabinet in my sewing room

then I ventured further afield in the house

I came across them...

*by my bed

*in the cupboard by my bed

*on the chair by my bed

*in the toilet

they were everywhere....

I've come to the conclusion that I must just love and collect (unknowingly) magazines!

I have that same problem. It's just so hard to throw them away. I've started ripping out and keeping just the pages that I need because my house just isn't big enough!

Gosh! You win, I think I can only see two piles of craft magazines in my house and then some craft books. I've seen Chookyblue's collection and I can see why she is at home. LOL !!!

Yes, have to own up to that collection also. I try to stop buying more, but my friends have started donating (getting rid of theirs) to me. My Mum even posts some over from the UK for me. I think I have become a home for unwanted magazines.

Isn't it refreshing to know you are not alone - I'm with Lucy one can never have tooo many crafty mags. Every time I visit you that photo of chick chick's bottom makes me smile I just love it.

I would feel very much at home. I too have books, magazines everywhere, DH thinks he may have to take up quilting becuase that is the only reading material in the bathroom. Grown kids give me heaps about all my magazines, but they also pick out things they want made, recipes and garden ideas.
Cheers

I always always have a magazine to hand! Old ones, new ones, in every room. In fact several in every room. You never know when inspiration will strike! Good for you and your collection and every other magazine lover out there, for we are many!!!

Mmmm.please tell me when did you sneak into my house and take the photos. From one collector to another congratulations you will never be bored. I have many magazines I used to buy a years supply of several and then move onto others. I can always find a pattern or idea from them. The only scary part is if we added up how much we spent on them.

Magazines are SO SO difficult to throw out... you never know when you might need to refer to them sometime! I think I have a few hidden away too

I really understand this one! No there is nothing dark about it! I too have a lot of magazines and sometimes it's really worth it to keep them all... It's a great collection and easy to collect, what makes it great! But a few years ago I really had enough of stumbling over all the magazines and I threw a lot of them away. I made a selection which ones I had not read or looked at in a year and they went out. Now I only have the good ones left and it's really a huge relief! But I now how you could get attached to them hee hee... Lovely blog! And lovely photographs on the left of your garden!

Have a great day!

I have to laugh here -- I have the same problem with magazines. They seem to multiply and breed in my house. I love them though!

I'm with Culypops... I went thru mine a while back and organized out the things I didn't need and well of course I kept what I did! It will of course take two (or more) lifetimes to make all the wonderful things in even part of the magazines I have! Donating to a guild or someone who doesn't have any (or as big of a collection as you!) is a good idea too. I gave some to my young neice. She is hooked on quilting now too.... my work here is done!
