Australian Art and Craft Day at school last week, so I decided we would make a giant EMU
4 Grades worth of hands and some old tights
You just missed seeing them here, but I was wrapped with the pine cone toes we found in the carpark. They were just the ticket for Emu toes.

I love your emu! What a great idea. Teachers like you are a gift to students.
that is such a cute emu. My favorite books that i used to read to my children and now i read them to my grandchildren are"edward the emu" and "edwina the emu".

That is so cute. Were do you get all these ideas from?? Our children are lucky to have teachers like you. Thank you.
What a great idea Annie, so effective and it looks like it was fun to make.
Very cute emu......Big Bird had better watch out...lol.
School was never that much fun when I went. Yeh spring and then summer.

Love your emu. What a great idea. The kids would have loved it.
What a great idea! Love all of the hands!
Very cute!! I was thinking the same as Muddling Through said... "teachers like you are a gift to students".... well done!!
Oh, you all did a wonderful job on the emu! Love those legs. Too bad we missed seeing the toes :)
I'll bet the kids had great fun with this project.
Your spring garden is looking lovely. My mum grew Jonquils (among tons of other things) and I loved them so much. I've never grown them here. I must see if I can find some!
Thanks for stopping by and for the welcome comment. Nice to 'meet' a fellow Aussie :)
Annie, that is awesome
Cool Emu. I bet the big kid had as much fun making it as the little ones did. Love the flowers - just wish my garden looked that good.
Annie - That is a cracking idea - I bet the kids loved making it - I would have! Although I would have been stuck there for a while trying to figure out which hand print was mine!..
Spring is coming! Days are warmer, longer and way more conducive to outside play. Peta
Wow! He is incredible! What a brilliant idea Annie!

Turned out fantastically-love the toes idea! Bet the kids just love it.
GREAT idea Annie. Your emu is excellent. I am continually amazed at the awesomeness of teachers to keep coming up with new ideas and projects.
Schools have very fun you don't say this.
I am missing my school life.

The emu is inspired. The tights give it that extra edge.
