5 years waiting . . .

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting some more for this Clivia to flower.
It's looked healthy each year but no flowers
and finally . . .
3 bud stems and they are STUNNING
So much pleasure I am getting from seeing them every day.

This is my very special renunculas that was so beautiful last year with just one special bud.
This year there are a dozen!
And this is what I've been doing the last couple of days.
Garden Extensions!
One of my favourite pass times.
Excited to see the first Banksia Rose - buds EVERYWHERE
Oh, and did I mention I had a fight with a shovel???
I was digging in the compost, and hit a stick.  The handle swung back and hit me in the face
OUCH!
Off to Melbourne tomorrow to see a Red and White Quilt Show.
Quilts in the Barn 2012
Infinite Variety Revisited
An exhibition of Red and White Quilts
 Featuring
Antique Red and White Quilts
from the
Mary Koval Collection

Ouch! That looks sore, but all your hard work in the garden is paying off. Your flowers are exquisite. Enjoy the show.

Oh Annie ~ I'm sorry that mean old shovel gave you a whollop. Glad it wasn't any worse, that looks like it hurts.

I love your renunculas, and the clivia blooms are so vibrant, your roses lovely. I can feel your joy as you work in your gardens.

Have a great time at the quilt show.

Sorry about that wicked shovel and compost pile. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I lost my balance one time and found myself lying in a raised flower bed. Fortunately, the neighbors did not see me, nor was I hurt.

Your renunculas are so exquisite. They look like they are made of tissue paper.

Oh such lovely flowers, but I hope your bloomin' eye heals quickly.

oh Annie, that shovel injury brought tears to my eyes! It's so exciting when you start to see the first buds, so to have blooms on your Clivia for the first time is such a reward for all your hard work. What are you planning for your new bed?

oh dear, that must've been a shock... as well as hurting badly Annie!
Your clivias are looking superb, and a lovely surprise if they've been a bit tardy.
I can't get over how intricate those renunculas are, petals around petals - isn't Mother Nature so clever.
Spring is really bursting at your place isn't it! :D)

Oh, Annie, your poor eye. That looks painful. But your flowers are beautiful, and patience is a gardener's best tool.

Bad luck with the shovel to the eye! Oouch! I am loving my rannuc's and banksia rose too! Spring is a delightful time of year, all that colour and scent. Pleasant temperatures before summer comes and scorches us to dust.
