My first attempt at an oven mitt. I was pretty pleased with myself. I have since downloaded a pattern and got some special insullation wadding for my next one.
I was imspired by this clever lady to try out these little zipper bags.
Another win for mid week, and a happy birthday recipient too!
. . . and finally these buds on my Hippiastrum - mum shared some special bulbs with me and I'm so excited to see these. I moved them to pride of place right outside my back door where I can keep my eye on them.

. . . and then home to my baby! It's sitting up on a box now and those little tail feathers are growing.
Yesterday I picked my first bunch of roses to bring inside to enjoy. Just a few sunny days and there are roses everywhere. This is the famous Just Joey, and it's such a lovely large rose.
I am LOVING the Spring Time this year.

I love your Hippeastrum, I have one bulb left from last christmas, it has plenty of leaves but I think that there is no flower in sight.
You are supposed not to water the bulb for about 2 months but it was so hot here that just I couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe next year!

Just Joeys are the best. My mother grows them as big as dinner plates.

Nice mitt. I remember my Mum making them and using leftover woolen fabric or blankets to line/insulate.
