Summer Knitting

My mum is the official "Queen of Machine Knitting"
I am very new to this hobby, but already I have my second machine.

At Christmas time I had lots and lots of lessons on how to drive this fancy machine.  It does all sorts of patterns and stitches, so I have lots of learning ahead.

Mum said I had to jump straight in and make a garment, so . . .

a waistcoat it was to be.  Lots of giggles, and late nights later, we came mighty close to finishing.

I still have to sew in a couple of loose ends.
I will post the finished garment sooooooon

Thanks to Marlene (the Queen's Accomplice) - for helping secure the new machine, and sharing so generously, some of her stash.

How mum convinced you to attempt machine knitting on a Mildura summers day is beyond me however I guess I treat a hot day like a rainy one and do inside things and she does have an airconditioner so perhaps it is not so incredible. Good work, I think you will be a natural. Help is only a skype call away. Mum will be so pleased you are having a go!1569

Wow! That looks like so much fun -- I can't imagine being able to finish something so quickly! How are the little birdies doing?
