Beyond the Nest 2012 - ARTS WEEK

Each Grade had to make a class nest

I made the base with wire and cotton reels, and then the children wove selveldges and scraps through to make our nest.

They were all amazing, and it was great for our final Assembly for the week, to see them presented to the school community.  A great display.
We had a wonderful week full of creating.
See more examples here.

And with a little bit of sunshine inbetween the showers, some lovely things happened in my garden too.

The nest is very decorative, I like how it looks and besides a nest always gives a feeling of love and protection.

Good to see some creative opportunities for kids, there doesn't seem to be enough these days. Your flower pics are always lovely.

What a wonderful idea! The nests look almost festive! I bet the kids had a great time making them.

Dear Annie,
I am so thrilled that you visited my blog. Thank you so much for your comment. I don't know that I'll ever get used to reaching out across the whole globe and sharing common experiences with women halfway 'round the world.
I love the freshness and energy of art created by young people. I would have loved to see it, touch it, and hear the children tell the stories of making it!

What great nests! But, as usual, it is your flowers that steal the show. They are just beautiful!
