Your Mom grows some real beauties. Glad you had a nice time in the sun in her gardens. What a treat to get a bulb from that beautiful amaryllis, at least that's what I think it is.
Lovely photos and I think it is an inherited thing...my grandpa and I worked in his garden when I was living with them during the week when young, my other grandpa and Aunt had a lovely garden when I lived with them as an 18 yr old..all the males in that family were Market Gardeners. I think we were the only ones that grew flowers at times...I love my Dutch Iris as they remind me of Dad growing them. And fields of blue lupin for ploughing back in. Mum always had a lovely garden and I have some of her last garden here. I love those cream/yellow clivia, mine is not out yet....the orange are but no sign of the cream as yet. The property in Wheelers Hill that we lived on when I was born had belonged to a flower grower and two back paddocks that I seem to recall sloping to a slight V in the middle had loads of yellow and white jonquils which Mum would pick for market. I have such happy memories of going into the Vic Market as a child....before it moved to Footscray.
Oh so wonderful! We are going into our fall in the US and even then it isn't going to be a pretty one this year as we are lacking rain so everything is browning up instead of the gorgeous gold, red and greens:( Thanks for sharing your sunshine:)
Mum was so pleased that you did some pruning/playing in the garden for her. She say's that both our grandmothers were keen gardeners, her mother picking bunches of violets and sending them to the Melbourne market for pin money. Loved having you home and wish you were closer....or the train was returned so we could commute more easily. "If wishes were made of pots and pans........" We blitzed them at the market on Saturday and Sunday. Met heaps of avid gardeners and found an alstromeria collector. I am excited!

No wonder your garden is so lovely, Annie - it's definitely in the genes!

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
Like I said before green thumbs must be a family trait. Love the Gerber and the Hibyistrum(spelt wrong) is magnificent.

Good grief. Are those amyryllis, growing outside? That's amazing.
Beautiful bulbs! Won't it be nice to get some from her? When they bloom in your yard you'll be reminded of her. So pretty.
Just beautiful! A feast for the eyes.
A green thumb definately runs in your family. Thank you for sharing the photos. Absolutely stunning gardens.
The love of gardening is a wonderful thing to inherit isn't it.
Your Mum has a beautiful garden, thank you for showing us, it was a delight to see.
